Markit On Demand

Web Developer

June 2011 – Present

At Markit On Demand, I write complex web applications for clients in the financial services sector. Taking pdf prototypes from the design team, I am able to build pages with browser compatibility in mind. I write server-side code in C# .NET and on the client-side, I write JavaScript with help from jQuery. Our sites and APIs receive a massive amount of traffic, so performance is always a major focal point of mine. I take pride in writing clean code that makes it possible to aggregate and present the most complex of financial data.

Leeds School of Business

Web Developer

May 2010 – May 2011

Replaced existing .NET CMS with a Symfony (PHP) CMS. I was the only developer and worked very closely with an excellent designer. I implemented a database schema that allowed for complete coverage of Leeds entities including events, news, publications, people, videos, offices and more. I wrote a custom search with live AJAX results, giving users an additional, modern means of navigation. I also developed an secure backend interface that made it fast and easy for staff to add, edit and delete content. This is a highly visible site and is still live at leeds.colorado.edu.

Senior Project

August 2009 – May 2010

Transitioned spacecraft simulation software from a cryptic language understood by few to a web application that produces Java, giving JPL a wider range of programmers that can understand and implement the simulations.
